Roots Community Garden
Greater Lansing Food Bank Garden Project
ROOTS COMMUNITY GARDEN
In partnership with the Kiwanis Club, Roots Community Garden is a nine-acre garden space on the Der Happy Hallow property in Mason that supports gardeners from a variety of countries and experiences, including Congolese, Burundi, Hmong, and more! Many African growers grow crops like corn, eggplant, and dry beans, while Hmong families grow hot peppers to share with family living in cities. First established as an incubator farm in 2013, Roots now offers the largest Garden Project plots, which allow families to truly support themselves and their community with culturally recognized food.
